XI International Moscow Traditional Sailing Regatta

Notice of Race

 

Classes “OPTIMIST”, “CADET”, “SNIPE”, “FINN”

Moscow, Russia

August 12 – 18, 2007

  

1.       Goals and Objects

 

-         To maintain close cooperation between National Associations of Classes

-         To develop the professionalism of sailing skills of yachtsmen and reveal the best ones

-         To popularize the Moscow Region Water Area

 

2.     Organizing Authority

 

       The management of the event is realized by Moscow Sport Committee, Moscow Sailing School.

 

3.     Host Club and Venue

 

          Moscow Sport Committee’ State Educational Establishment “ Moscow Experimental School for Further Professional Skills in Sailing Sports” (Moscow Sailing School) together with the support of Moscow Yachting Federation (FPVS Moscow).

          The event is held on Water areas of Klyazma and Pestovo belonging to the Channel named after Moscow.

4.     Rules

 

The event is held with the accordance to the Yacht Racing Rules 2005 – 2008 International Sailing Association (ISAF), Class Rules 2005 – 2008 SCIRA, Class Rules “Optimist”, “Cadet” and “Finn”, Moscow Channel Sailing Rules and present Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions.

 

5.     Advertising

 

          The event is restricted to Category “C” (Rule 20.3.2(b) Add 1 YRR ISAF) and with the accordance to SCIRA Advertising Prescriptions.

 

6.    Conditions of Entry

         

          In Classes “Optimist”, “Cadet” and “Finn” regatta is complete open. In class “Snipe” regatta is open to members of SCIRA 2007.

         

7.   Entries and Registrations

 

          Filled in Competitors Entry Forms and non-participants registrations are accepted in Regatta Office until the   August 10 , 2007.

                       last warning signal will not be given after 15:00

                 12 races are planned

 

 

9.     Yachts

 The accepting organization has an opportunity to give to participants of the Regatta of a yacht of class "Snipe" and "Finn".

 

10.     Measurement

 All boats are subject to measurement at any time at the reasonable discretion of Race Committee. All “Snipe” boats are required to have a current Class decal properly displayed.

  

11.     Sailing Instructions

  Sailing Instructions in Russian and English will be available on the Regatta Office Information Board from 10:00 August 12, 2006.

  

12.          Courses

 The courses to be sailed are the Class approved courses and are described in Sailing Instructions.

 

13.         Scoring

For classes "Optimist", "Cadet", "Finn" will be will be applied linear scoring.

The SCIRA low point scoring system will be used for class "Snipe".

 

14.    Responsibility

 The Organizing Authority does not take any responsibility for life and property of the competitors during the event.

 

 15.     Prizes

 Prizes and Diplomas are awarded to best three skippers and crews in every Class.
