Victor Potapov is one of best yachmen of the world.

He took part at three Olimpic Games (1972 - Finn class, 1976 - 470, 1980 - Tornado)

At 1972 Olimpic Games he took bronze in Finn class.

At 1978 and 1980 he has won World Chempionships in Tornado. At 1981 he has won Eropean championship (Tornado).

10 times he won USSR championships.
