AP Mainsail - Below 93 Kilos (HV-2L)

The HV-2L Mainsail is our most popular design with the non-Olympic masters circuit previously known as the HV-2. Again designed 1% flatter than the D-2 and manufactured from North’s own k30 SX-1mil fabric.

This is the ideal sail for the Lighter sailors; it is more manageable in the stronger winds with its flatter shape and still soft, supple and easy to read in the light.

The sail comes complete with class insignia, sail numbers, sail battens, windows, tell tales, Class Label, Sail Measurement and sail bag.

Light Mainsail (D-2L)

The D-2L is built to the same designed shape as the D-2 but manufactured from North’s own k30 SX-1mil fabric. This is a lighter cloth with less Kevlar content, which naturally allows the sail to fly deeper this coupled with the extra softness of the cloth makes the sail easier to trim when the breeze is down and the ideal choice for light wind sailing perfect for the 0-12 knot wind range.

The sail comes complete with class insignia, sail numbers, sail battens, windows, tell tales, Class Label, Sail Measurement and sail bag.

The HV-2 Mainsail is our heavy weather sail. It is designed 1% flatter all over than the D-2 and is used in 18 knots plus. Built with a radial head construction help keeps the draft position forward.

Used to win both the 2002 worlds and European Championships.

Manufactured from Dimensions E04 1MIL KEVLAR, the sail comes complete with class insignia, sail numbers, sail battens, windows, tell tales, Class Label, Sail Measurement and sail bag.

Finn Mast bend Measurement

s4.jpg

Support the mast with the tip at a height which will allow the tip of the mast not to hit the ground when the weight is placed on it. Fix in place at the butt to allow to rest on the collar as it holds by the mast step and deck of the boat. Mark the point A. See picture above. Place the weight (10kg Sideways / Fore & Aft) on the tip of the mast at the measurement band. Mark the point B for sideways and fore&aft. Take a taught string from the top of the bottom measurement band (D) to the bottom of the top one (C). Measure the distance in millimeters between the string and the mast (Sideways and Fore&Aft) in every 1/4 of the distance CD.

Measure the distance in millimeters between the string and the mast (Sideways and Fore&Aft) in every 1/4 of the distance CD.

The below table can be automatically calculated on the North Website.

Fore & Aft 1/4 1/2 3/4

Sideways
Tip Deflection (AB) Fore & Aft Sideways

The maximum mast bend for the North sail is 108mm with 10kg and 130mm with 12kg
